7. You definitely want an RI contractor who’ll build everything to code, getting it right the first time, so you’ll never have problems with insurance claims, should something ever happen, or having to re-do a project because it didn’t pass inspection; in short to save yourself a lot of headache, heartache, time and money.

To sum it all up, you are looking for a RI contractor and/or RI construction company that take their work and reputation seriously, since such an attitude leads to happy customers, namely you, and to repeat customers. I have just read a basement design related article in Courierpress, that Eugenia and Maricela have turned a room in their basement into a mexican style party central, a perfect place for the fiestas they love.

They wanted a space with the energy, warmth and flavor of a Mexican cantina, and they wanted it to reflect their Mexican-Canadian heritage.

They have created a satellite kitchen for serving the dancing guests.  Highlighting this kitchen area is a cool, transparent globe light fixture.

They have used incredible and vibrant colors of Mexican on textiles, tiles, paints, fabrics and furnitures.

Covering the small window behind the sofa with a full, wall-sized, translucent blind gives the impression that the window is much larger than it is.  What a fantastic idea!

Well, this basement room is a great example of creativity, energy, fun and warm feelings.

In every basement remodeling project one of the main question is how to estimate basement remodeling costs.

First, you can find calculators on the internet. Just type “basement remodeling estimate calculator” or a similar keyword phrase into Google and you can find some handy tool quickly.

Another possibility is to get a basement design software that contains a cost estimation module.  So when you try to decide which designer program should you choose, a very important factor can be if it is have a cost calculation module or not.

If you are not satisfied with the internet cost calculation tools or do not want to buy a basement designer software there are at least two other choice.

Ask proposals from 3-5 local basement remodeling contractors for your planned project and compare them. Drop out the most and less expensive ones and calculate a main value from the remaining cost proposals.

Finally, you can estimate the total cost by breaking your project into small phases and estimate the work and material needed for those phases. Calculate the cost of work and material of the basement remodeling project phases than sum the costs up.

Are you considering a remodeled basement?

Right now, you’re probably using the basement for storage of old and not used items, so there are not so much space for other activities downstairs.  Those unused items and utilities are going to take up space no matter how well organized it is.

One solution is to finish only part of your basement. Create an unfinished area and organize your items better. Create more storage space with shelves and cabinets.

Besides there will be another part of the basement where you can create a remodeled section and you can use this for a better purpose then just store stuff.
